WHAT'S THE SHOW?
This directing class production attempts to recreate all 209 of the fairy talkes of the Brothers Grimm in a wild, fast-paced extravaganza. To make it more difficult, they attempt to combine them into one gigantic fable using Rapunzel, Rumpelstiltskin, Hansel and Gretel, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and more obscure stories like Lean Lisa and The Devil's Grandmother.
WHAT SHOULD I PREPARE?
#1 - FAMILIARITY WITH THE PLAY. Research and, if possible, read The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon (one-act) and get to know the characters and their dynamics. This will help you feel more confident and prepared during auditions.
#2 - YOUR ENTIRE SPRING SEMESTER SCHEDULE. Bring a list of all your conflicts for the remainder of the spring semester. We aim to accommodate as many schedules as possible, but knowing your availability helps us with casting and scheduling rehearsals.
WHAT'S THE TIME COMMITMENT?
Rehearsals will generally run between 6:00-9:00 PM Mondays, but may rehearse other days and times as well, pending availability. We'll work around your other commitments as much as possible, but please keep in mind that availability can influence casting decisions. A detailed schedule will be provided after casting. Full participation is especially critical in the week leading up to performances, when we will meet daily (excluding April 23). Performances are April 24 & 25.
